Data Corrections
►Why?

Our Data Correction Services aim to:

  • Help districts ensure the accuracy of their assessment demographic data. This becomes especially important with state and federal accountability reports and with the impending implementation of the state CALPADS system.
►What?

We have developed data correction methodologies for working with all of the major assessment data: STAR, CAHSEE, CELDT, and Physical Fitness. Whereas each testing contractor has their own unique way for submitting the corrections, our process for working with districts is consistent across all assessments.

This process is similar to our Data Cleaning Services. The main difference is that Data Cleaning is intended to assist a district in ensuring that their Student Information System's data is accurate, which helps ensure the accuracy of Pre-Identification data. The Data Corrections Service occurs after testing and is intended to ensure accurate data for state and federal accountability reporting.

►How?

Our Data Correction Process involves the following steps:

  • Obtain the district data (usually the district provides Key Data Systems with the data the district received from the testing contractor).
  • Key Data Systems performs an extensive review of the data and provides the district with a report that identifies missing, inconsistent or problematic data.
  • The district provides Key Data Systems with corrected data.
  • Key Data Systems will generate reports to confirm the impact of the changes on the various accountability reports and send them to the district.
  • Key Data Systems will submit the corrected data to the testing contractor.
  • Key Data Systems will provide the district with a corrected data file.

Our Data Correction Services work with all major assessment data and helps ensure the accuracy of Pre-ID data.
